Job Description:
Are you passionate about education and excellence in the field of abdominal transplantation? We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Resource Specialist to join our Abdominal Transplant Unit. This position focuses on developing and delivering impactful training programs for clinical staff, directly influencing patient care and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement educational modules and continuing education programs for all aspects of the abdominal transplant program, including outpatient, transplant ICU, and acute care settings.
  • Support clinical staff and transplant coordinators with advanced training, orientation programs, and ongoing education.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with OPTN and CSM guidelines, integrating best practices into educational materials.
  • Provide cross-support for the SICU and outpatient transplant unit, including Aurora.
  • Participate in a comprehensive 3-day classroom training program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field (education focus preferred).

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active Texas RN License or multi-state compact RN license, free of stipulations or disciplinary actions.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification as a Transplant Coordinator is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator (non-negotiable).
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record of consistent work history.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Epic, OPTN, and CSM guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Honest and clear preferences regarding unit, shift, and location.
