Remote Drafting Manager

Location: Remote
Salary: $85,000–$100,000+

Job Summary

We are seeking a Drafting Manager to lead drafting and modeling operations for a steel tank fabrication company. This role will oversee drafting workflow, manage a team, coordinate outsourced detailing, and work closely with Purchasing & Procurement to keep projects on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage drafting personnel, workflow, priorities, and project deadlines.
• Oversee AutoCAD drafting and 3D modeling for steel tank fabrication projects.
• Coordinate smaller detailing assignments with an outsourced team in India.
• Work closely with Purchasing & Procurement to ensure drawings and material requirements align with project schedules.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy, quality, and constructability.
• Help develop and maintain efficient drafting and detailing processes.
• Support training, onboarding, and development of drafting team members.

Qualifications

• AutoCAD experience required.
• Experience managing drafting teams and workflow.
• Steel fabrication drafting/modeling experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with above-ground, elevated, or other steel tank fabrication is a major plus.
• 3D modeling experience with Inventor or SolidWorks is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a remote environment.
