Job Description
General Summary
Conducts remelt operations. Ensures all procedures are followed correctly. Performs quality assurance checks and transports as required to insure efficient and safe process flow. Follows oral and written instructions, wears protective equipment where and when directed and obeys all plant and safety rules and regulations. Supports the facility's mission, safety and ISO goas and directives and is an active participant of the Remington Team.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)
Only qualified personnel shall conduct remelt operations. Operators must be trained in all operation and safety aspects of this job. Operators shall be considered trained once this document has been reviewed and record of training has been signed.
Scrap lead from CF, SS, and RF is trucked to the remelt building via transport truck in large red scrap totes and barrels by the truck driver.
The operator shall inspect containers of remelt lead for contaminants that could cause potential fires. Containers of contaminated remelt lead shall not be dumped into the remelt pots until contents have been removed.
Note: Contaminants could include trash, plastic, rags, gloves, grease, etc.
Containers of contaminated lead with live rounds (RF or SS) should not be processed. These containers should be returned to the respective department so that all loaded rounds can be removed.
Barrels of wire which contain liquid contaminants needs to be drained and allowed (1-3 days) to dry before attempting to process in the system.
The operator loads wire, billets, ingots, and small material in totes or barrels onto the conveyor belt in small portions.
Operator conveys enough scrap to completely fill the pot.
Once the lead has been melted, the dross contaminants on the top are skimmed off with the dross dipper.
The lead is then pumped into the pig molds.
After the molds cool and harden, the lead pigs are dumped out and stacked where they are easily moved by forklift.
The stacked pigs are then weighed on the floor scale, weight transaction completed, and then located in the proper storage location until needed by CF production.
The operator is responsible for changing the lead pump, drowsing the pot, or anything else pertinent to maintain the complete building system as required.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; extreme heat; explosives and vibration. Eye protection in the form of approved safety glasses with side shields or approved safety goggles is required. Approved steel-toe safety shoes are required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection to be worn in the work area.

Work Environment:
Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
Pay Range:
Starting Hourly Rate: $21.26
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
