Job Description

Design, develop, and implement reliability test methods and procedures for new and existing products. Own assigned test platforms and ensure continued testing for functionality, reliability, and performance. Act as the primary technical expert for reliability test equipment, laboratory assets, and test capabilities. Define equipment requirements, system configurations, and testing strategies. Maintain and improve test stand hardware, software, instrumentation, and supporting documentation. Manage equipment lifecycle activities including maintenance, upgrades, and replacement planning. Develop and execute reliability test plans, protocols, and validation activities. Perform hands-on bench testing and create custom fixturing solutions where required. Conduct detailed failure analysis investigations on complex electro-mechanical components and systems. Partner with hardware and software engineering teams to identify root causes of product failures. Analyse failed components, validate corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Generate technical failure analysis reports and communicate findings to key stakeholders. Support DFMEA activities and provide recommendations to improve product reliability early in the development cycle. Coordinate laboratory resources, test activities, and scheduling across cross-functional teams. Conduct risk assessments and proactively identify potential reliability concerns before product launch. Maintain accurate test records, calibration documentation, and compliance standards.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in reliability engineering, electrical design, or failure analysis. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality and accuracy. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong desire to learn, develop, and grow within a technical engineering environment.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with semiconductor equipment, robotics, or advanced electromechanical systems. Hands-on experience operating and maintaining thermal chambers, humidity chambers, and shock/vibration testing equipment. Experience with LabVIEW programming and data acquisition systems. Knowledge of microscopy, fractography, sample preparation, and laboratory analysis techniques. Experience with materials characterisation tools and spectroscopy methods such as FTIR and XRF. Familiarity with SEMI standards and reliability testing methodologies. Experience establishing or supporting reliability and failure analysis laboratories.
