Reliability Technician

Position Summary

Seeking a highly engaged, motivated individual that embraces change and challenge.

This position will assist the reliability team by focusing on preventative and predictive maintenance and measurements such as equipment lubrication, vibration measurement, and temperature measurement. They will report to the Reliability Supervisor and will be responsible for analyzing and trending data collected to predict equipment maintenance needs throughout the plant and perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA). This position will execute assigned work while following all applicable safety standards and best practices.

Safety and housekeeping are the first considerations in all activities. The successful candidate must consistently demonstrate an understanding of all plant & departmental safety rules, standards, and programs. This position will also assist with condition-based monitoring (CBM) routes for vibration, lubrication and oil sampling for analysis based on equipment criticality.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform Storeroom Clerk and Planner duties as needed.

2. Participate in LEAN events (5S, Kaizen, A3) to support plant reliability initiatives.

3. Assist with managing the weekly RPM work schedule.

4. Assist with weekly RPM meetings.

5. Collect and enter equipment hours into EAM.

6. Monitor vendor managed inventory and coordinate with vendors.

7. Assist with reviewing, VWIs, job plans, and PMs.

8. Catalog and assign barcodes for new parts into EAM.

9. Coordinate order tracking and research parts required for job plans.

10. Maintain equipment library and bill of materials.

11. Active role in day-to-day execution and documentation of planned and predictive maintenance.

12. Support continuous improvement of the plant preventative maintenance and MRO materials programs.

13. Apply FMEA and Root Cause Failure Analysis to determine need for improved maintenance strategies.

14. Coordinate maintenance activities with the Production Maintenance Coordinators (PMCs) to ensure timely repairs are made.

15. Implement predictive maintenance programs including vibration, infrared, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing.

16. Assist CI department with documenting plant CI projects.

17. Primary responsibility for ensuring physical, electrical, and mechanical asset health and reliability is maintained.

18. Maintain a clean, color, and shape coded lubrication storage facility.

19. Perform routine skilled plant and equipment inspections, reporting any deficiencies that would lead to mechanical breakdowns, safety risks, or delays in production.

20. Use EAM for work identification, entering work requests, updating equipment history, and creating/updating PM tasks associated with preventative and/or predictive maintenance.

Experience

· Previous experience in maintenance or a reliability-focused position required.

Required Skills

1. Reading, writing, and math comprehension including calculation/measurement of volumes needed including ability to interpret manuals, drawings, reports, and lubrication analysis

2. Demonstrate initiative and strong work habits, detail oriented, able to multi-task, and have capability to effectively work under direct and indirect supervision

3. Efficiently operate with basic computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office, EAM, and navigate the network drive along with the ability to learn new advanced software programs.

4. Must have good equipment and manufacturing knowledge with power transmission devices including gear drives and belt drives, various rotating mechanical equipment including belt conveyors, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators.

5. Knowledge of bearings, gears, pistons, oils, greases, seals, vents, breathers, filtration, power transmissions components

6. Working knowledge of the different types of reducers, their internals and applications.

7. Working knowledge of the different types of bearings, applications and lubrication requirements.

8. Capable of researching vendor prints and OEM specifications for bearings/reducers to determine correct lubrication required.

9. Demonstrate the ability to cooperate with other workers in the areas of safety, quality, and production/maintenance and understand the importance of completing assigned tasks and their relationship to other requirements.

10. Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this job area, which may include lifting items 49 pounds or less, working in extreme temperatures, and navigating uneven terrain, ramps, steps and ladders.

11. Can effectively and efficiently communicate both written and orally with production, maintenance, managers, and all other necessary personnel including vendors.

12. Responsible for maintaining a set of personal tools as required by the engineering department.

Hourly Pay: $45.75

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
