Description

Reliability & Maintenance Leader, Injection Molding Operations

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $100,000–$115,000 p/y

What a day could look like

You start your morning walking the production floor across two local plastics facilities, checking in with technicians and scanning OEE and downtime dashboards. A molding cell is trending hotter than expected—your team executes a quick plan to inspect hydraulics and a servo axis while you coordinate parts availability from the storeroom. By mid-morning you’re deep into a root-cause review on a recurring robot fault, aligning Production, Engineering, and Quality on corrective actions. The afternoon brings a PM review meeting—your updates on PM completion, mean time between failures, and spares optimization translate directly into higher uptime. You wrap the day by scheduling weekend work orders for a planned press upgrade and verifying safety permits and timelines.

Your scope

  • Lead maintenance strategy and execution across two manufacturing sites focused on injection molding, robotics, and automation.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a skilled technician team; set clear expectations for safety, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Own preventive and corrective maintenance programs and drive equipment reliability improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and guide repairs on molding presses, auxiliary equipment, automated cells, industrial robots, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement durable corrective and preventive actions to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Manage scheduling, work orders, spare parts, and critical asset strategies using CMMS tools.
  • Track maintenance KPIs and continuously improve uptime, PM compliance, and PM effectiveness.
  • Partner closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality on process enhancements and equipment upgrades.
  • Support installations, retrofits, and facility projects, ensuring safe execution and on-time delivery.
  • Foster a culture of safety—verify LOTO, permits, and procedures are followed without exception.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years leading, supervising, or coordinating maintenance teams.
  • Direct experience servicing and optimizing plastic injection molding equipment.
  • Background with auxiliary molding equipment and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Broad troubleshooting capability across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with industrial robotics and PLC-controlled equipment strongly preferred.
  • Associate degree, technical/trade-school education, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Clear, confident leadership with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment and remain hands-on on the floor.
  • Willingness to travel between local facilities, plus availability for occasional weekends and overtime as production requires.

  • Maintenance management or team supervision
  • Robotics and automation integration
  • PLC troubleshooting
