Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and execute reliability plans for new and existing products.
  • Perform reliability predictions, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and root cause investigations.
  • Analyze field failure data, warranty claims, and service reports to identify trends and reliability concerns.
  • Define reliability metrics, targets, and performance indicators.
  • Support Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis activities using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, and CAPA.
  • Investigate component, subsystem, and system-level failures.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product performance and durability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve recurring reliability and quality issues.
  • Prepare reliability reports, technical documentation, and engineering recommendations.
  • Maintain reliability databases and performance tracking systems.
  • Support compliance with applicable industry, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Present findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and project teams.

The successful Reliability Engineer will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product engineering, quality engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and corrective action investigations.
  • Knowledge of FMEA, FTA, Weibull analysis, and reliability growth methodologies.
  • Experience in rail rolling stock is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of reliability principles, statistical analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
