The Reliability Engineer will provide comprehensive engineering support for the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of buildings and utilities. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to ensure safe operations, maximizing equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance costs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. The position focuses on applying efficient technologies to various building systems—including lighting, HVAC, utilities, and power—to reduce operating costs.Day‑to‑Day ResponsibilitiesLead and be responsible for the execution of reliability excellence/maintenance program and maintain reliability maintenance strategy documents.Rank the criticality of the assets under their care, typically using Reliability Centered Maintenance approaches, and define proactive maintenance approaches that are cost‑beneficial to the business.Identify and implement predictive maintenance technologies and manage predictive maintenance equipment.Administer programs such as thermography, vibration analysis, lube oil monitoring for the site and regionally, including vendor selection, program scoping, scheduling, analysis review, and corrective action follow‑up.Perform or support operational event and equipment failure investigations to ensure that root causes are identified and corrective actions are monitored for effectiveness.Conduct program and system/equipment audits periodically and as needed, focusing on safety, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, cost savings, and energy conservation.Participate in planning, design review, value management and construction document development of new facilities and renovations, supporting utility distribution, master planning, and business continuity planning.Perform life‑cycle financial modeling of developed technical solutions and construct detailed technical proposals and draft bid documents.Support commissioning activities for all upgrades, renovations, and construction projects including project maintenance plans, maintainability reviews, critical spares, documentation, etc.Develop and maintain new key performance indicators of equipment reliability.Perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMinimum 5 years of engineering experience with mechanical design/testing and international quality standards.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.Previous experience working in facilities or plant management.Certified Plant Engineer or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional.Experience with predictive maintenance technologies—including vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound, and motor current analysis.Experience with root cause failure analysis, equipment criticality ranking, PM/PDM optimization, and/or failure modes and effects.Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles applied to design, operation, and maintenance of building structures and mechanical and electrical equipment.Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.LocationSan Diego, CA (On‑site)SalaryEstimated compensation: $121,000 – $143,000 USD per year.Benefits401(k) plan with matching company contributions.Comprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision coverage.Paid parental leave at 100% of salary.Paid Time Off and Company Holidays.Early access to earned wages through Daily Pay.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementJones Lang LaSalle (“JLL”) is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities.
