You'll be based in our High Point, NC location, where you'll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that fosters innovation and collaboration. You will support our Drug Product Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific and play an important role in our company's success.
We're looking for a highly motivated Reliability Engineer to join our team and help maximize equipment performance, reliability, and operational excellence. In this role, you'll leverage data, engineering expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to improve asset reliability, reduce downtime, and support a world-class manufacturing operation.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to develop and execute strategies that improve equipment performance throughout the asset lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and optimize reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies, preventive maintenance (PM) programs, and maintenance plans based on equipment criticality and failure modes.
Analyze equipment performance, downtime, OEE, and maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Lead and support root cause failure analyses (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring equipment issues.
Partner with Maintenance and Operations to prioritize work based on production impact, risk, and asset criticality.
Drive initiatives that improve equipment availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and optimize maintenance intervals.
Support technical investigations and deviation management by identifying systemic equipment issues and recommending sustainable solutions.
Participate in new equipment installations, qualification activities, and capital projects with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost.
Develop and review User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Requirements (FR) with reliability and spare parts strategies in mind.
Maintain accurate asset information within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support data-driven decision making.
Establish, monitor, and report key reliability performance indicators while driving improvement initiatives.
Support audit readiness by ensuring maintenance strategies and documentation meet GMP and regulatory expectations.
Serve as a subject matter expert or backup SME for CMMS (Maximo) and building automation systems (Metasys).
Collaborate across departments to improve equipment performance, manufacturing capacity, and operational efficiency.
Keys to Success:
At least 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance planning, maintenance engineering, or a related manufacturing environment.
Experience applying reliability engineering principles including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and preventive maintenance optimization.
Experience working with CMMS platforms such as Maximo or SAP.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience with TrackWise or similar quality management systems.
Experience with building management systems such as Metasys.
Project management experience supporting equipment upgrades, capital projects, or manufacturing improvements.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret equipment performance data and drive improvement initiatives.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, asset management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
