Description
The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and execute reliability plans for new and existing products.
- Perform reliability predictions, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and root cause investigations.
- Analyze field failure data, warranty claims, and service reports to identify trends and reliability concerns.
- Define reliability metrics, targets, and performance indicators.
- Support Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead structured root cause analysis activities using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, and CAPA.
- Investigate component, subsystem, and system-level failures.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product performance and durability.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve recurring reliability and quality issues.
- Prepare reliability reports, technical documentation, and engineering recommendations.
- Maintain reliability databases and performance tracking systems.
- Support compliance with applicable industry, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Present findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and project teams.

Profile
The successful Reliability Engineer will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product engineering, quality engineering, or a related field.
- Experience performing root cause analysis and corrective action investigations.
- Knowledge of FMEA, FTA, Weibull analysis, and reliability growth methodologies.
- Experience in rail rolling stock is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of reliability principles, statistical analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
