Reliability Engineer

Location: Cupertino, CA (Onsite role)

Introduction

This role supports the hardware development group by executing reliability testing and failure analysis on new technologies. The Engineering Specialist will provide technical expertise in designing and conducting reliability assessments to evaluate and improve hardware robustness.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or other Engineering discipline.
• 3 years in a reliability, test, or quality engineering role.
• Experience with JEDEC, ASTM, and other industry standards.
• Hands-on experience with reliability testing and DOE/FMEA tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis.
• Effective communicator (written & verbal) and team player.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with advanced failure analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with cross-functional team collaboration.
• Knowledge of developing new test procedures and specifications.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead and execute mechanical and environmental reliability tests (e.g., shock, drop, vibration, thermal cycling).
• Prepare detailed test plans and reports.
• Conduct statistical data analysis for reliability risk assessments.
• Perform failure analysis to determine root cause using methods such as X-ray, SEM/EDS, FTIR, and microscopy.
• Develop new test procedures and specifications to assess technology robustness.
• Provide design recommendations to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate test results and findings.
• Conduct research on technologies to predict failure modes.
• Prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to documentation, test, and safety standards.
