Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Inspection Program.
- Administer the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance program, including inspection checklist quality and frequency.
- Coordinate vibration, oil, non-destructive, ultrasonic, infrared, and other advanced detection activities.
- Conduct special equipment inspections on mill liners, symetros, drives, and the clinker cooler, including critical welds using dye penetrant and magnetic particle techniques.
- Oversee vibration analysis and oil management programs, including timely analysis, sampling, and lubrication.
- Develop reliable and cost-effective lubrication strategies aimed at maximizing equipment life and reliability.
- Ensure environmentally friendly use, reuse, and disposal of lubrication materials.
- Analyze maintenance reports to proactively plan repairs, maximize reliability, and minimize costs.
- Partner with Maintenance and Operations to prioritize inspections and repairs and identify process-impacting equipment issues.
- Maintain equipment history records supporting work orders, preventative/predictive maintenance, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct reliability studies, reduce maintenance costs, recommend modifications/replacements, and design out problems on major projects.
- Provide relief coverage for other members of the maintenance department as needed.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to cover mechanical problems occurring evenings and weekends.
- Lead implementation of maintenance tools, systems, and organizational improvements.
- Develop and maintain plant maintenance standards and identify potential issues.
- Lead research and application of reliability fundamentals.
- Work with vendors and consultants on maintenance system proposals.
- Champion total quality and total reliability.
- Ensure vendors provide required insurance certification before supervised work.
About You
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering required.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience in cement manufacturing or a related industry.
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and through presentations.
- Ability to work as part of a team to ensure continuous improvement in the functional area and overall plant operations.
- Must be able to meet on-call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation.
- Strong leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of reliability engineering experience.
- 3+ years of preventative maintenance experience with vibration analysis and/or lubrication analysis; certification is a plus.
- Cement industry maintenance experience.
