Job Title: Reimbursement Specialist
Location: Sarasota, FL
Job Type: 3+ month Temp
Pay Rate: $27.00/hr+ DOE
Hours: Fulltime - 40 hours Mon-Friday 8-5
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of current, applicable reimbursement or billing experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong Microsoft Office, database, and medical billing software skills
- Ability to type at least 30 WPM
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Reimbursement Specialist to support reimbursement and collection activities for assigned payers. The Reimbursement Specialist will monitor claim status, research rejections and denials, perform necessary follow-up, and accurately document account activity to help ensure timely collection of payments.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor insurance claims and reimbursement status
- Research rejected, denied, and returned claims
- Perform follow-up to secure payment from insurance providers
- Document account status and collection activity accurately
- Perform mathematical calculations and audit data for errors
- Maintain accurate billing and reimbursement records
- Work independently while collaborating with the reimbursement team
- Communicate professionally with payers and internal team members
Preferred Experience:
- Previous home health billing experience
- Collections experience with Medicaid, Managed Care/Insurance, and Private Payers
- WellSky (Kinnser) experience
