Overall Responsibilities:
The Rehabilitation Teacher is responsible for the implementation of individualized daily living skills instruction to clients adjusting to vision loss and to support their goals to remain independent in their home and daily activities. The Rehabilitation Teacher will provide virtual, telephone, and/or in-person instruction to clients served in the community and in the center as needed or requested by the supervisor. The Rehabilitation Teacher may travel throughout a wide geographic area to provide instruction to clients in their home. Incumbent must be able to provide their own transportation to various client sites for home visits as needed.
Education and Experience:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Vision Rehabilitation, Education, or other related field. An Associate's degree from an ACOTE accredited program, COTA certification through NBCOT, and at least 3 years of experience in the field of blindness or visual impairment will be considered.
