Rehab Secretary - Allen Hospital

THIS IS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION
General Summary
The Rehab Services Secretary schedules and registers all patients for Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy outpatient services. The Rehab Services Secretary is responsible for posting charges, assigning ICD-9 codes to outpatients, performs routine office procedures, transcribes patient data, verifies insurance, maintains inventory of supply and assists in preparation and clean-up of patient therapies. Promotes the institution's philosophy, mission and values during all interactions with patients, families, staff and others.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Successful completion of general and unit specific orientation and hospital probationary period. Completes Orientation Checklist.
Fire Safety and CPR Recertification
Must be able to communicate well verbally in writing with people of varying backgrounds.
Familiar with ICD-9 Coding
Demonstrates knowledge of Word and Excel
Working Conditions
Requires full range of motion, manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, corrected visual acuity (ability to discern colors) and hearing required
Work ranges from light to medium
Frequent stooping and lifting carrying, pulling and pushing required of material up to 50 pounds without assistance,
Ability to walk and run of various surfaces
Working conditions include inclement weather and a wide range of temperatures
Ability to cope with stressful situtations
