    Now Hiring: Per Diem Rehab Office Specialist – Cottage Hospital

    Cottage Hospital is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Rehab Office Specialist to join our Physical Therapy Department on a per diem basis. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients receiving Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Cardiac Rehab services.

    This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations by coordinating patient scheduling, managing referrals, verifying insurance, and assisting with front desk and administrative workflows.     Job Summary

    The Rehab Office Specialist is a non-licensed team member responsible for providing administrative and clerical support within the Rehab Department. Responsibilities include patient registration and scheduling, referral management, insurance verification, and coordination of billing-related processes to ensure efficient and seamless patient care delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    Front Desk & Patient Interaction

    • Greet and register patients upon arrival
    • Verify demographic, insurance, and clinical information
    • Collect co-pays and ensure accurate documentation
    • Communicate patient arrivals to therapists via electronic systems

    Scheduling & Referral Management

    • Enter referrals and patient data into Cerner and WebPT
    • Schedule therapy appointments and applicable testing
    • Track cancellations, no-shows, and schedule changes
    • Communicate with referring provider offices

    Insurance & Billing Support

    • Verify insurance coverage and authorization requirements
    • Track authorized visits, Medicare caps, and eligibility
    • Assist with charge entry and billing processes
    • Collaborate with therapists and Revenue Cycle team

    General Office Support

    • Maintain office supplies and assist with correspondence
    • Participate in department meetings and trainings
    • Provide system support as a departmental resource when needed
