Description <-- Simple Share Buttons Adder 7.4.17 simplesharebuttons.com -->TwitterLinkedinFacebookGooglePinterestemailMaPurpose of JobProvide effective leadership and oversight of regulatory functions by demonstrating ownership acting with empathy proactively ensuring adherence to compliance requirements while advocating for seamless customer-focused cargo movement.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop a deep understanding of all aspects of regulatory to ensure compliance & reduce regulatory related expenditures.Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as the PR Tax Department USDA CBP US Census Bureau & Dept of Homeland Security.Maintain a framework that is driven by a generalist structure" to ensure all team members are cross trained in all aspects and functions related to regulatory.Develop processes that will allow the generalist to become more productive and efficient considering building consistency among all port locations regarding regulatory functions.Research and resolve regulatory issues as they arise supporting both internal and external customers.Act as a liaison between company and regulatory agencies.Schedule work hours to support business requirements keeping overtime within or below budget.Maintain comprehensive understanding of all regulatory requirements and provide guidance and training to our customers and business units to increase knowledge and minimize risk.Work closely with the Shipment Services Department to ensure shipments are accurately documented so they may be transmitted in a timely manner to Regulatory agencies.Identify areas of potential issues & develop corrective action steps to ensure proper compliance.Prepare Self-Disclosure Letters to the U.S. Census Bureau or Mitigation Letters to U.S. Customs and Border Protection as required for consideration in preventing fines and penalties.Promote teamwork integration through clear understanding of interdepartmental needs and expectations between all terminal locations.Maintain KPIs for analysis of areas where improvement is needed.1Frequent individual and team discussions to identify career development goals opportunities to improve share ownership challenge empower and keep line of communication open.Partner with other port locations to ensure accurate vessel reconciliation in our BOS Back Office System and TOS Terminal Operation Systems to ensure accuracy of documentation for governmentalregulatory agencies requirements.Work on ad-hoc projectsinitiatives as needed.Secondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists the Company in any necessary duties to achieve Company goals.Performs other related duties as assigned.Adherence to the Integrated Management System that covers Quality Environmental and Safety ISO International Organization for Standardization certificationsAuthorityJudgmentDisclosureFinancial ResponsibilityLittle or no direct supervision.
