Job Summary: The Regulatory Specialist is responsible for overseeing and evaluating documentation for Upstate University Hospital. The position collaborates with leadership to ensure compliance with New York State and federal regulatory requirements, and that all processes and policies are accurate and up to date.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the need to revise, amend, or modify state licenses related to New York State Certificate of Need (CON) and operating certificates.
  • Submitting regulatory applications for changes to the organizations operating certificates.
  • Notifying state and federal agencies of proposed changes to the organizations infrastructure in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare, business, or related field and three years of relevant experience in a healthcare or related environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, re-prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity, within specified guidelines & timeframes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Visio (or equivalent process mapping software).

Work Days: Monday-Friday, days with weekends as needed.
