Position Overview
We are looking for an analytical and detail-focused individual to join our Asset Management Operations team. This role involves comprehensive management of regulatory reporting obligations, particularly focusing on the preparation, validation, and submission of SEC Form N-CEN filings. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of data for reportable transactions under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Adviser Act of 1940, manage complex workflows, and collaborate with partners to navigate the changing regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Form N-CEN Management: Oversee the complete process of preparing, coordinating, and filing annual Form N-CEN reports. Ensure precise census-type data is submitted in the required XML format within the 75-day regulatory deadline.
- Data Reconciliation: Perform and coordinate complex data reconciliations independently to guarantee absolute accuracy for reportable transactions.
- Audit and Oversight: Ensure data accuracy and provide thorough oversight when handling requests related to regulations and audits.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Communicate with strategic business partners and third-party service providers to review open requests, establish clear ownership, and proactively evaluate processes to drive efficiencies and strengthen risk oversight.
- Thought Leadership and Technology: Offer expert guidance in navigating the evolving financial regulatory landscape and actively participate in developing technological solutions for regulatory reporting.
- Strategic Development: Work with business partners to develop and implement operational strategies for navigating regulations related to new instruments and evolving regulations affecting existing products.
Skills & Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3–4 years' experience in financial services, OR a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field with at least one year of experience in financial services.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a proven capacity to understand complex operational workflows and meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate regulatory issues, present ideas, and provide timely escalation to senior management.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with key stakeholders, challenge the status quo, and continuously enhance the control environment.
- Project Management: Self-motivated and proactive team player with strong organizational skills, capable of managing competing priorities under tight regulatory deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial markets, the SEC regulatory landscape, and specific reporting regimes, particularly Form N-CEN.
- Risk Management: Comprehensive understanding of risk management principles, including financial, operational, reputational, and regulatory risk factors.
- Financial Product Expertise: Practical knowledge of financial products, including equities, fixed income, exchange-traded derivatives, and OTC derivatives.
