Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree. One year of experience in code enforcement, investigations, or administration at the local, state, or federal level is required. Additional experience in code enforcement, investigations, or administration at the local, state, or federal level may substitute for the required college education on a year for year basis.

The incumbent performs advanced, countywide code enforcement and regulatory compliance work involving residential, commercial, industrial, and environmental matters throughout incorporated and unincorporated Miami-Dade County. Responsibilities include conducting complex inspections, investigations, research, and administrative reviews to enforce the Miami-Dade County Code, Florida Building Code, Florida Statutes, and related regulatory ordinances governing zoning, contractor licensing, work without permits, property maintenance, environmental protection, consumer protection, business licensing, and Convention and Tourist Development Taxes. The position investigates complaints, performs proactive inspections, prepares enforcement actions, issues notices of violation, develops cases for administrative, civil, and criminal proceedings, and testifies before administrative boards and courts. The incumbent researches public records, maintains comprehensive case documentation, coordinates with municipalities, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and legal staff, and utilizes multiple County information systems to manage enforcement activities. Assigned through a rotational process within the Consumer and Neighborhood Protection Division, the position is cross-trained across multiple enforcement programs and performs Certificate of Use inspections, business license inspections, public education and outreach, and other specialized enforcement duties to protect the health, safety, welfare, and quality of life of Miami-Dade County residents and businesses.
This position may be eligible to receive additional pay supplements related to code enforcement related duties.
