    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    Maintains compliance with DOT regulations, processes driving Personnel (HR) administrative records and provides customer service support within the Safety area.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. View each new driver file and complete audit to verify DOT compliance has been met.  Processes annual MVR's and Violation Review project for all employees.  Responsible for all physical and CDL renewals updated monthly.  Maintains the Drug Screen Compliance database and is in charge of the random and pre-employment process.

     

    2. Ensures legal compliance with company and DOT Hours of Service regulations by auditing driver's logs.  Produce, process, and audit reports in RAIR and Platform Science systems.  Advises and counsel drivers who are in non-compliance, and takes appropriate action when needed.  Processes DOT inspections and ensures they are returned to issuing state in 15 days.  Helps maintain process of citation information intake, issuing points on driver index, and ensuring payment is made to court for fines.

     

    3. Processes incoming Employment Verification requests in a timely manner.  Maintains the record storage and destruction program of imaged documents.  Scanning and indexing documents into employee files daily.  Responsible for amending, correcting, and editing any documents scanned into the system.  Contributes to the success of the department by completing assigned projects.  Contributes to the team effort by recommending improved processes.  Coordinates Safety Awards Program for Drivers.

     

    4. Managing the main 800-number for inbound safety/regulatory calls.  Serve as one of the main backups on the switchboard on Safety's allotted day for lunch, breaks and in cases where HR needs assistance and backup to guard shack.  Authorize rider passes to drivers and intake of Authorization trailer drop forms.  Verify and update driver’s CPAP compliance.  Maintain OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) program and set up/monitor completion of OSHA training courses. Ensure company confidentiality.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a low noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.
