The primary requirement of the Regulatory Compliance Specialist (RCS) is to ensure that Grand Canyon University (GCU) adheres strictly to the federal, state, and local regulations. The employee in this role would be responsible for addressing compliance issues throughout the University with particular attention to GCU's employees. The role involves auditing/examining and resolving irregularities that may become a potential detriment. In addition to managing anomalies, it also involves creating long-term solutions to prevent their recurrence.
Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
Serve as a liaison between the company and the regulatory agencies.
Perform regulatory compliance audits and safety checks to guarantee continuous regulatory compliance, as directed.
Relate with the entire hierarchy of employees to discuss regulations, standards, and company policies with the aim of providing training, as needed.
Responsible for the review of incident data and carry out root cause analysis to ascertain the cause.
Perform additional administrative and reporting duties related to regulatory requirements and safety metrics and maintain all records associated with compliance requirements.
Communicate up-to-date knowledge of current US and relevant international regulations relative to the University and its' operations.
Conduct research to provide appropriate compliance recommendations, advice on upcoming regulations, and evaluating the overall impact on the University.
Ensure all permits and licenses are current.
