PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

This role actively engages in ongoing environmental compliance activities, which entail conducting site inspections to verify compliance with environmental regulations. Responsibilities include traveling to various locations, such as industrial facilities, restaurants, land application sites, municipal water and wastewater treatment plants to collect samples for analysis to ensure compliance, which may involve handling hazardous materials, and other duties as assigned. Reviews building logs and construction plans to incorporate new buildings into compliance programs. Oversees or requests laboratory tests and analyzes the results, performs data entry with a focus on quality control, and prepares reports for regulatory agencies. Reviews Discharge Monitor Reports, submissions, analytical results, and ensures files are accurate and up to date. Position will participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to respond to after-hours environmental emergencies.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a related academic discipline, along with professional experience in environmental compliance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must have driver's license to apply, and must have Louisiana driver's license upon appointment.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
