Job Description: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is committed to delivering excellent service to both pets and pet parents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Perform phlebotomy and collect patient samples as needed
- Place IV catheters (and urinary catheters when trained/appropriate)
- Administer medications IV/IM/SQ/PO and accurately document treatments
- Run and interpret basic in-house labwork and assist with send-out diagnostics
- Support anesthesia from induction through recovery, including:
- Pre-op prep and monitoring
- Patient monitoring and charting (vitals, depth, safety checks)
- Recovery monitoring and patient comfort
- Provide general radiology support (positioning, safety, basic technique knowledge)
- Perform and assist with dental procedures, including:
- Dental radiology
- Dental scaling/polishing (as allowed by credentialing and hospital protocols)
- Dental charting and assisting during extractions
- Practice Fear Free / low-stress handling techniques
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate updates clearly to the team
- Support patient flow and help keep treatment and work areas clean, stocked, and organized
Qualifications:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT/CVT) in good standing (or eligible to transfer/obtain in NC)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Solid technical skills with a desire to continue learning and improving
- Comfortable with computers and veterinary software (Pulse/eVet experience is a plus)
- Compassionate, dependable, and client-service oriented
