Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Critical Care

Up to $40.00/hour (DOE) + $5.50/hour Shift Differential
$7,000 Sign-On Bonus

Schedule: Sunday–Wednesday | 12:00 PM–2:00 AM | Swing Shift

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Provide advanced nursing care and continuous monitoring for critically ill and hospitalized patients.
  • Triage and assess emergency patients and quickly communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, emergency procedures, and patient stabilization.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing sedation and anesthesia.
  • Maintain detailed treatment sheets, electronic medical records, and patient monitoring documentation.
  • Participate in patient rounds and communicate critical information across shifts.
  • Collaborate with Critical Care, Emergency, and Specialty teams to provide exceptional patient care.

What You Bring

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required.
  • Veterinary Technician experience in Critical Care, ICU, Emergency, or Specialty medicine strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations, CRIs, and advanced patient monitoring.
  • Experience with veterinary anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities with the ability to recognize changes in patient status.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective while managing complex and critically ill patients.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Up to $40.00/hour, based on experience and technical skill set
  • $7,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • $5.50/hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM
  • Sunday–Wednesday | 12:00 PM–2:00 AM
  • Full-time swing shift
