    Description

    Responsibilities:
    • The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will utilize critical thinking skills to assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and will develop a plan of care based on a diagnosis in the ICU, ER, and general floors. 
    • The RT will use decisive judgement to implement and monitor patient care plans.
    • The RT will monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the team and perform advanced Respiratory Care procedures. 
    • The RT will evaluate patient therapy; medications and treatments will be administered based on the patient outcome. 
    • The RT will educate patients and families about the health condition.
    • The RT will respond to rapid responses and code blue. 
    • The RT must be able to work in a stressful environment and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. 
    • Current MI license, BLS, and ACLS required. NRP and PALS preferred. 
    • RT could work with patients of all ages, however, the majority of patients are the adult population.
    Certifications & Clearance Requirements:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
