Responsibilities:
- The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will utilize critical thinking skills to assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and will develop a plan of care based on a diagnosis in the ICU, ER, and general floors.
- The RT will use decisive judgement to implement and monitor patient care plans.
- The RT will monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the team and perform advanced Respiratory Care procedures.
- The RT will evaluate patient therapy; medications and treatments will be administered based on the patient outcome.
- The RT will educate patients and families about the health condition.
- The RT will respond to rapid responses and code blue.
- The RT must be able to work in a stressful environment and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Current MI license, BLS, and ACLS required. NRP and PALS preferred.
- RT could work with patients of all ages, however, the majority of patients are the adult population.
Preferred Certifications & Clearance Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
