Registered Respiratory Therapist - 64 Hours, Evenings

Today, through our state-of-the-art Level One Trauma Center, cutting-edge specialty care units, and dedicated caregivers, the system is working at the forefront of medicine to address the overall needs of our patients and eliminate healthcare disparities. Personnel RRT will work with: RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Dieticians.

Patient Populations:

• Emergency Departments
• Acute Care Inpatient Specialty Units
• Adult Intensive Care Units
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
• Labor and Delivery
• Postpartum Care

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Invasive and Non-invasive ventilation management
• Evidence-based patient driven protocol pathways
• Critical thinking and time management
• Multi-disciplinary patient care management

Personnel RRT will work with:

• RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Dieticians

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
• Possess and maintain an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification
• Reliable transportation to travel to other MetroHealth facilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience as a RRT in a critical care environment.
• Extensive experience with mechanical ventilation, airway management, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Possess a Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA
• Possess an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) form the AHA
