We are seeking an experienced Registered Pharmacist for an opportunity in White Plains, New York. This position is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys working collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals while playing an important role in medication safety and patient care.

Position Summary

Under the direction of Pharmacy Services leadership, the Registered Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical services to patients while collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, pharmacy staff and other members of the healthcare team.

The Pharmacist will review medication orders against patient medication profiles, promote safe and appropriate medication use, and ensure pharmacy services are delivered according to hospital policies, procedures and professional standards.

This position also provides an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, professional accountability and strong clinical decision-making within a hospital pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify patient medication orders against medication profiles

  • Promote safe, accurate and appropriate medication use

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other members of the healthcare team

  • Apply knowledge of medication delivery systems in daily pharmacy operations

  • Support medication education, patient safety and patient rights

  • Identify medication-related concerns and collaborate with the healthcare team to determine appropriate solutions

  • Follow hospital pharmacy policies, procedures and professional standards

  • Maintain compliance with infection-control and medication-safety practices

  • Participate in Performance Improvement and Risk Management initiatives

  • Provide oversight and direction to Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Transporters

  • Effectively prioritize workload and utilize pharmacy resources

  • Participate in departmental education, in-services and professional-development activities

  • Maintain required professional licensure and competencies

  • Practice appropriate cost-containment measures

  • Provide professional and effective communication across the healthcare team

  • Adapt to changing staffing and departmental needs

  • Perform additional pharmacy-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Active Pharmacist license through the New York State Board of Pharmacy required upon hire

  • Working knowledge of medication delivery systems

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Strong medication-safety and clinical decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
