Registered Nurse – Wound Care
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Shift: Day Shift (8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care for a 13-week contract assignment at a reputable healthcare facility. This role focuses on providing specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care while supporting patient recovery and quality improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in wound care and pressure injury management, along with strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans as needed
- Educate patients and families on wound care management and prevention
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Support pressure injury prevention and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation (EPIC preferred)
- Float to other units as required
Requirements
- Active New York State RN License
- 3–5 years of healthcare experience
- Hands-on experience with wound care and pressure injury management
- Willingness to float as needed
Required Certifications
Candidates must hold at least one of the following:
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON)
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN)
- Certified Wound Specialist (CWS)
- Wound Care Certified (WCC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC documentation system
