Registered Nurse - Stroke Care | 12H Night Shifts in a Leading Facility in City, State

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to stroke and acute care patients in a stepdown/med-surg unit
  • Administer medications, including titratable drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval)
  • Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret EKGs, and respond to patient needs promptly
  • Manage patient assessments, document in EMR (Meditech Expanse), and communicate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Support patient education and discharge planning processes
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, RT, hospitalist, and support staff
  • Assist with documentation, charting, and making sure equipment like IV pumps and medication dispensing are accurate and up-to-date


What You Need:

Required:
  • Valid RN license
  • 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience
  • BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
  • Ability to pass EKG competency exam
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and titratable IV medications
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Preferred:
  • Stroke/CVA/TIA care experience
  • Chest tube management, tracheostomy, Peritoneal Dialysis experience
  • Ability to work night shifts and adapt to unit protocols
  • Team-oriented attitude with traveler-friendly approach
