Registered Nurse - Stroke Care | 12H Night Shifts in a Leading Facility in City, State

Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute care; stroke/CVA/TIA experience preferred

What Youll Do:

Provide high-quality nursing care to stroke and acute care patients in a stepdown/med-surg unit
Administer medications, including titratable drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval)
Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret EKGs, and respond to patient needs promptly
Manage patient assessments, document in EMR (Meditech Expanse), and communicate with interdisciplinary teams
Support patient education and discharge planning processes
Collaborate with charge nurses, RT, hospitalist, and support staff
Assist with documentation, charting, and making sure equipment like IV pumps and medication dispensing are accurate and up-to-date

What You Need:

Required:

Valid RN license
2+ years of recent acute care RN experience
BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
Ability to pass EKG competency exam
Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and titratable IV medications
Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Preferred:

Stroke/CVA/TIA care experience
Chest tube management, tracheostomy, Peritoneal Dialysis experience
Ability to work night shifts and adapt to unit protocols
Team-oriented attitude with traveler-friendly approach
