    1. What does a typical workday look like, including the average patient workload?

A typical workday involves providing nursing care to active-duty military members and their dependents in the Women's Health Clinic. Responsibilities include patient triage, assessing patient concerns, providing education, assisting providers with procedures, and coordinating follow-up care.

The position also involves contraceptive counseling, pregnancy-related concerns, STI screening and treatment, Pap/HPV screening, and assisting with the management of abnormal results and follow-up tracking.

Patient volume varies depending on the clinic schedule, walk-ins, and daily patient needs. The workload includes both direct patient care and administrative responsibilities, such as documentation, telephone triage, and coordinating care.

    2. How would you describe the clinic's pace and overall work environment?

The clinic has a steady pace, with some days being busier than others depending on patient volume and staffing. The environment is collaborative, and nurses work closely with providers and other healthcare team members to ensure patients receive appropriate care.

The position requires flexibility, good communication, organization, and the ability to prioritize patient needs throughout the day. There is a good balance between independent nursing responsibilities and teamwork.

    3. What does the onboarding and training process look like, and how long does it typically take for a new employee to become fully independent?

Onboarding includes becoming familiar with military treatment facility policies, clinic workflows, documentation requirements, electronic medical records, and women's health-specific procedures.

The time needed to become fully independent will depend on the individual's previous nursing experience, familiarity with women's health, and comfort with triage and clinical procedures.

    4. What are the typical work hours and scheduling expectations?

The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 0700–1600 (7:00 AM–4:00 PM).

The position follows a structured weekday schedule, which provides a good work-life balance.

    5. Is there any additional information about the clinic or position that you believe would be helpful?

I think it would be helpful for potential candidates to understand that this position offers a great opportunity to develop and utilize a broad range of women's health nursing skills.

The nurse plays an important role in patient education, preventive care, contraception management, reproductive health, and coordination of care. Strong assessment and triage skills are particularly valuable, as patients may present with a variety of concerns that require independent nursing judgment and appropriate provider collaboration.

    Job Summary:

    • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness
    • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice by all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
