Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Development Coordinator to join our nursing leadership team.
As the RN Staff Development Coordinator, you'll help develop a knowledgeable, confident nursing team through orientation, clinical education, competency training, and ongoing staff development.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding for newly hired nursing staff.
- Provide clinical education and training for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other direct-care staff.
- Conduct skills validations and competency assessments.
- Coordinate required in-services, annual education, and regulatory training.
- Maintain accurate training, certification, and competency records.
- Coach and mentor nursing staff to strengthen clinical performance.
- Support survey readiness, infection prevention, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing – REQUIRED.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous nursing experience required.
- Staff development, nursing education, clinical training, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
- Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent teaching, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Passion for developing healthcare professionals and improving resident care.
