A nonprofit organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Manhattan.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- Hours: 8am to 8:30pm
- Setting: Homeless shelters
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site nursing care and health screenings for shelter clients
- Complete intakes, assess medical and psychiatric history, and document findings accurately
- Administer medications, monitor clients, and check vital signs
- Support care coordination with providers, social workers, and other team members
- Maintain EMR documentation, medication records, and clinical supplies
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric, mental health, behavioral health, or substance use setting
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- AHA BLS certification
- Experience with electronic medical record documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff at all levels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with homeless individuals
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks EMR
- Comfort working with a high-acuity behavioral health and substance use population
