We are currently accepting applications to fill (6) Registered Nurse vacancies in County of Santa Barbara Health. We have two (2) Full-Time openings at the Lompoc Health Center, one (1) Full-Time opening at the Santa Maria Health Center, one (1) Full-Time opening at the Santa Barbara Health Center, one (1) Full-Time opening at the Franklin Health Center in Santa Barbara, and one (1) Part-Time (72 hours weekly) opening at the Franklin Health Center in Santa Barbara. The County classification title is Staff Nurse.
We are also accepting applications to establish one employment list that will be used to fill current and future Full-Time, Part-Time, Extra Help and 1414* vacancies in multiple locations including Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and Lompoc. CSR 1414 (Leave of Absence): This recruitment is to fill a Regular position, but the eligible list may be used to fill future positions vacated as a result of a leave of absence (CSR 1414) and the duration of the appointment shall be subject to the return of the individual who is on leave. A person who is appointed to a position under CSR 1414 may be able to transition into a regular position in the classification without re-application or re-testing, depending on the performance of the appointee and the needs of the department.

Enhanced Care Management (ECM) Services:
The California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) initiative is part of a transformative overhaul of Medi-Cal that recognizes person-centered care as influential in positive health outcomes. Enhanced Care Management (ECM) is a new Medi-Cal benefit available to eligible members with complex needs and includes care management of health-related needs, and facilitation with community resources. With general direction from the ECM Nurse Supervisor, the ECM Registered Nurse will support ECM team by managing a small panel of assigned patients with complex medical needs.
Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH):Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) program works to improve the health and well-being of women, infants, children and adolescents. A Community Health Assessment is completed every five years to understand the health and well-being of the populations served and results are used to develop a local scope of work. Additional Qualifications: Must have a current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification by first day of employment.
Knowledge of: the principles, practices, and skilled techniques of nursing; symptomology and disease processes; general nutrition; medical equipment operation; use and effects of medications and immunizations; laws governing nursing; health education techniques and practices; interviewing and counseling techniques; community health and social services; clinic operation and procedures.

Bilingual - Speaking, Reading, and Writing Preferred: The ability to converse, read, and write fluently in English and Spanish is preferred. Note: You must self-certify on your application that you are fluent in English and Spanish. Hiring departments may test you on your fluency. If you do not demonstrate sufficient fluency, your name may be withheld from future certifications that require bilingual skills, in accordance with Civil Service Rules.
NOTE: Selectees for employment must, as a condition of employment, sign a statement agreeing to comply with Section 11166 of the California Penal Code relating to child abuse, elder/dependent adult abuse, and physical violence abuse reporting.
Supplemental Information
APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS:
Candidates must receive a percentage score of at least 70 on the Supplemental Questionnaire Rating to be placed on an employment list. An adjustment may be made to raw scores based on factors listed in Civil Service Rule 6. Those candidates who are successful in the selection process will have their names placed on the employment list for a minimum of three months. At the time the employment list is established, all candidates will receive an email notice of their score on the examination, rank on the employment list, and duration of the employment list.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: Veteran's preference credit is applicable for this recruitment (5 points for veterans, 10 points for disabled veterans). To be eligible for this credit, you must be applying for this position within five years from your most recent date of: (1) honorable discharge from active military service; or, (2) discharge from a military or veterans' hospital where treatment and confinement were for a disability incurred during active military service; or, (3) completion of education or training funded by a Federal Educational Assistance Act. No time limit exists for veterans with 30% or more disability.
