A health services organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Brooklyn, providing nursing oversight and direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential facility.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday
  • Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm
  • Setting: Residential Facility

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and follow through on health care services for assigned programs
  • Arrange medical services, make referrals, and follow up on medical concerns
  • Prepare and maintain medical documentation, assessments, and medical schedules
  • Administer medications as appropriate and supervise medication administration by certified staff
  • Provide staff training on medical administration, first aid, infection control, and related nursing topics
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and annual reviews

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of Nursing experience in community-based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Good oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Knowledge of nursing equipment typically used by individuals receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in residential or community programs
  • Experience training staff on nursing and health-related practices
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary care coordination and documentation systems
  • Comfort providing coverage across multiple program sites in the Bronx
