A health services organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Brooklyn, providing nursing oversight and direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential facility.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday
- Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm
- Setting: Residential Facility
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and follow through on health care services for assigned programs
- Arrange medical services, make referrals, and follow up on medical concerns
- Prepare and maintain medical documentation, assessments, and medical schedules
- Administer medications as appropriate and supervise medication administration by certified staff
- Provide staff training on medical administration, first aid, infection control, and related nursing topics
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and annual reviews
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of Nursing experience in community-based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration
- CPR certification
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Good oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Knowledge of nursing equipment typically used by individuals receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in residential or community programs
- Experience training staff on nursing and health-related practices
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary care coordination and documentation systems
- Comfort providing coverage across multiple program sites in the Bronx
