The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees. It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns.
The Medical Imaging (Radiology) RN Clinician will be responsible for representing ECHN to the Radiology Intervention patient in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. The Radiology nurse will report directly to the Manager of Vascular and Cardiology Services and indirectly to the Team Leader of Interventional Radiology. The Radiology RN Clinician provides nursing care by assessing the patient pre-intra and-post- procedure and assisting the Radiologist in the various diagnostic radiology testing. Examples are: Interventional angiography, US guided thorocentesis / paracentesis, CT guided biopsies and any pt care needs that come up in the Medical Imaging Department. The Radiology, RN Clinician, will administer moderate sedation and other prescribed medication or pharmacological agents pre, intra and-post- radiology procedure/imaging test.
Participates in the operational duties of the department, such as but not limited to; Quality Improvement, Policy and Procedure maintenance, revising and development of billing and gathering of statistical data, developing departmental educational opportunities and participating in the on-going growth and maintenance of the excellent customer services provided to all that ECHN serves as well as assisting the Manager in maximizing the department's financial resources.
The Radiology RN Clinician also provides educational resources for patients and assesses each patient for understanding of procedures, post procedural education and lifestyle modifications necessary for maintaining optimum health and assists the department in planning and implementing new programs within the department.
The Radiology RN Clinician accepts on-call responsibilities for the Medical Imaging Department.
