Registered Nurse (RN) PRN (31480)

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Remote/PRN capacity. This role is responsible for conducting pre-operative, post-operative, and one-month follow-up patient calls to support continuity of care and enhance the patient experience. The RN will also provide PRN onsite clinical coverage for PTO requests and unexpected staffing shortages as needed.

This position plays a critical role in improving workflow efficiency, supporting patient outcomes, and maintaining operational continuity within the center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative patient phone calls to review instructions, medications, and procedural preparation.
• Perform post-operative follow-up calls to assess patient recovery, answer questions, and identify potential concerns.
• Complete one-month follow-up patient calls and document findings appropriately.
• Accurately document all patient communications in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Escalate patient concerns or clinical findings to the appropriate provider when necessary.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality during all communications.
• Provide PRN onsite nursing coverage during staff PTO, call-outs, or periods of increased patient volume.
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative personnel to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient workflow.
• Support patient satisfaction initiatives through timely and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Previous experience in surgical, procedural, interventional radiology, outpatient, or perioperative settings preferred.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining productivity and professionalism.
• Proficient computer and EMR documentation skills.
• Flexible availability for PRN onsite coverage when needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and work remotely for extended periods during phone follow-up activities.
• Ability to provide onsite clinical support as needed.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff.
