    Role Overview
    A healthcare organization in Northern New Mexico is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality post-operative nursing care, monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

    Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in the PACU using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Monitor and assess patients recovering from surgical procedures and anesthesia.
    • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and communicate updates to the care team.
    • Support the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and their families.
    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with nursing standards.
    • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
    • Follow established protocols for patient safety and recovery.
    Schedule
    • Full-Time Days
    • Rotating weekends
    • On-call responsibilities required
    • Holiday coverage as needed
    • Scheduling flexibility may be required based on department needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
    • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Minimum of 1 year of PACU experience
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior post-anesthesia or surgical recovery experience
    • PALS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
