Job Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: New Castle County/Kent County, DE/ Newark, DE (Part-time)
Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time
Schedule: School-Day Hours & For Part Time ((3:00 PM 7:00 PM or 3:30 PM 7:30 PM) 16 hours week only)(Monday to Thursday) After-School & Residential Program)
Position Overview:
As a School Nurse, you will play an essential role in promoting student health and well-being. You'll provide direct nursing care, manage student health concerns, administer medications, and collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and school staff to help students remain healthy and successful in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily nursing care for students and staff
- Assess and manage student health concerns
- Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate with parents, physicians, and school personnel regarding student health needs
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed
- Maintain confidential student health records
- Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations
- Provide nursing support during field trips and school-related activities when required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license meeting the State of Delaware School Nurse requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required (3+ years preferred)
- Pediatric or School Nursing experience is preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic proficiency with electronic documentation and Microsoft Office application
For Parttime RN:
Position Summary
Provide compassionate nursing care for students (birth to age 22) who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind in an after school and residential setting. Responsibilities include managing athletic first aid, monitoring seizure disorders, administering medications, and collaborating with staff and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care during after-school programs and athletic activities.
- Respond to medical emergencies, injuries, and administer evening medications.
- Maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with Delaware regulations.
- Optional extra hours available for home/away athletic events and weekend tournaments.
Qualifications
- Active Delaware RN License (or Multistate Compact RN License).
- Current BLS certification.
- Pediatric, school nursing, residential care, or community health experience preferred.
