    Description

    The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a reputed healthcare organization in Breckenridge, TX and we are looking to hire compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to deliver high-quality nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients within the Emergency, Medical-Surgical, and/or Ambulatory Care Services Departments.

    Reporting to the Primary Unity Nursing Director and The Chief Nursing Office, the RN assesses patient needs, develops and adjusts care plans, and implements appropriate nursing interventions.

    The RN may need to work across nursing units based on department and patient needs and must practice within the RN scope of practice for each department.

    Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible Scheduling | 12 Hour Shifts

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate workflow, respond to emergencies, and document patient encounters
    • Record patient medical information and vital signs & maintain accurate medical records
    • Administer medications and monitor for side effects and adverse reactions
    • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to physicians
    • Perform nursing procedures according to physician orders and established care plans
    • Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
    • Modify treatment plans based on patient responses and patient conditions
    • Monitor patient care, including diet and physical activity
    • Direct and supervise nursing and support staff based on census, acuity, and staff competency
    • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
    • Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention
    • Assess patient, family, and community health and safety needs
    • Prepare patient rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
    • Refer patients and caregivers to specialized healthcare and community resources
    • Participate in infection prevention and control programs
    • Recommend medications, medical devices, and therapeutic treatments
    • Implement physician orders and evaluate diagnostic test results
    • Perform physical examinations and implement appropriate interventions
    • Develop and implement programs to improve community health
    • Provide care according to assigned unit guidelines and protocols
    • Demonstrate competency in required clinical skills for each care setting

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and established standards of conduct
    • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of hospital information and business
    • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the hospital
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
    • Foster a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, CNO, or CEO

    What We Are Looking For

    Education, Experience, Licensure and Certifications

    • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
    • Current Texas Board of Nursing Registered Nurse (RN) license or multi-state compact license
    • 1–2 years of hospital nursing experience preferred
      • Relevant experience preferred; candidates with varying experience levels are welcome
    • BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required within 30 days of hire
    • ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of hire
    • TNCC certification required within 6 months of hire Full-time and ED-based PRN/agency staff; preferred for other PRN/agency staff

    Additional Skills and Attributes

    • Strong interpersonal, communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, teaching, and coaching skills
    • Ability to adapt to change, follow instructions, and exercise sound judgment
    • Proficiency in clinical calculations, medication dosages, IV rates, and unit conversions
    • Fluent in written and spoken English; Spanish preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet, and electronic medical records (EMR)
    • Ability to lift 30 lbs regularly and 150 lbs occasionally
    • Ability to work in a healthcare environment with occasional outdoor exposure and OSHA Category I hazards
    • Ability to manage stressful patient situations, respond to patient and coworker needs, and communicate effectively in public settings
    Candidates must successfully pass a standard background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
