Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient

About the Role

Bighorn Ridgerunners is hiring experienced Registered Nurses to provide outpatient nursing care at Crownpoint Healthcare
Facility (CHF), Thoreau Health Center (THC) and Pueblo Pintado Health Center (PPHC), an Indian Health Service (IHS) outpatient clinic providing many healthcare services to patients in an area covering 4,200 square miles within four counties in northwest New Mexico (McKinley, Cibola, Sandoval, and San Juan). We are located on the eastern side of the Navajo Nation, and most of our patients are Navajo. This is a nonpersonal services contract position supporting a collegial care team offering primary care, women's health, dental, and community nursing services.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct outpatient nursing care including patient assessment, vital signs, triage, and treatment support
  • Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and clinical protocols
  • Perform wound care, injections, and other nursing procedures within scope of practice
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the clinic's electronic health record system
  • Educate patients on disease management, preventive care, and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, APRNs/FNPs, and allied health staff as part of a multidisciplinary care team
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, IHS, and Joint Commission standards

What You'll Need

  • Current, unrestricted RN license (compact license accepted where applicable)
  • Current BLS certification (required); PALS, ACLS, NLS, and/or ATCN/TNCC as appropriate to duty section
  • Up-to-date immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B (or titer/declination), Varicella, Tdap, annual TB screening, annual influenza vaccine, COVID-19 vaccination documentation
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation and fingerprinting (OPM eQIP)
  • Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity working with American Indian and Alaska Native communities
  • Reliable transportation; valid driver's license
