Job Overview

A-Line Staffing Solutions is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to support a leading retail pharmacy chain's nationwide immunization program in Topeka, Kansas.

This is a vaccine-focused nursing assignment in a retail pharmacy setting. The RN will assess patients, administer vaccinations, provide patient education, and complete required clinical documentation.

Vaccines may include COVID-19, influenza, rabies, typhoid, and other immunizations based on applicable state regulations and program requirements.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced RN who is comfortable working in a retail pharmacy environment and can independently conduct patient screenings, administer vaccines, document services, and interact professionally with customers.

Candidates with previous retail immunization, mass vaccination clinic, pharmacy, public health, occupational health, or vaccine clinic experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and administer vaccinations safely and accurately in accordance with established standards of practice and policies.
• Complete required immunization screenings and verify patient eligibility prior to vaccination.
• Administer assigned vaccines following appropriate clinical protocols and patient consent.
• Educate customers and patients about available vaccination services and answer questions regarding immunizations.
• When vaccine appointments are not scheduled, proactively engage customers throughout the store to promote vaccination services and conduct appropriate screenings.
• Document vaccinations and related services accurately and promptly using the Vaccine Administration Record (VAR) and applicable technology.
• Monitor patients and communicate changes in patient status or clinical concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacy personnel, Walgreens liaisons, agency staff, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate vaccination clinics with Walgreens liaisons and arrive at assigned locations as scheduled.
• Use computers and other technology effectively to complete documentation and communicate with appropriate contacts.
• Demonstrate strong time-management skills while maintaining safe, efficient patient care.
• Communicate patient needs, concerns, progress, and follow-up requirements appropriately.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities when assigned.
• Maintain compliance with applicable nursing, immunization, and patient-care standards.
