Job Type: ContractJob SummaryThe Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides skilled, compassionate nursing care to patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. The RN performs rapid patient assessments, prioritizes care based on acuity, administers medications and treatments, and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, timely, and effective patient care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform rapid triage and comprehensive nursing assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Assess patient conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and responses to treatment.
- Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or eligibility for licensure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, as required by the employer.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or other emergency certifications, as required by the position.
- Previous emergency department or acute care nursing experience preferred;new graduate opportunities may be available.
