Description

A community-based healthcare organization in New York is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the Bronx to support adults in a day program setting.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8am to 3:30pm
  • Setting: Day Program

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate health care services for assigned program participants as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Complete nursing assessments, medical documentation, and follow-up on doctor's orders and recommendations
  • Administer medications as appropriate and oversee proper medication storage and administration practices
  • Provide first aid, respond to medical emergencies, and arrange referrals or outside medical services when needed
  • Support staff through training on health-related topics, infection control, hygiene, and other nursing procedures

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse providing community-based health services to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse license and registration in New York State
  • CPR certification
  • Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a day program, school nursing, or similar community-based setting
  • Familiarity with adaptive equipment, wheelchairs, and related devices
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
