The Registered Nurse (RN) – CV ICU is responsible for delivering specialized, high-acuity care to patients with critical cardiovascular conditions. This role involves monitoring complex cardiac patients, administering advanced therapies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The RN will provide critical care nursing, respond to rapid changes in patient condition, and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Excellence

• Develop and document patient care plans within required timelines
• Perform patient interventions with age-specific competency
• Provide high-quality nursing care in CV ICU settings

Clinical Monitoring & Intervention

• Monitor critically ill cardiac patients and respond to changes
• Interpret diagnostic data and notify physicians of critical values
• Administer medications and IV therapy as per protocols
• Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions

Care Coordination

• Verify physician orders, medications, and procedures
• Coordinate diagnostic tests and treatment plans
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance

Compliance & Patient Safety

• Follow hospital protocols and safety standards
• Maintain compliance with medication administration guidelines
• Ensure proper patient identification and documentation

Must-Have Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Active RN License (South Carolina or Compact State)
• BLS Certification (AHA – Required)
• ACLS & NIHSS (Required within orientation period)
• Strong clinical and patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in CV ICU / ICU / Telemetry
• CCRN Certification (Preferred)
• Strong cardiovascular critical care experience
