Women Newborn Care Unit (WNCC) / 2 East Registered Nurse (RN) Charge $2,500 - $10,000 Sign On Bonus! - Conditions May Apply The Women Newborn Care Center provides patient and family centered care. We provide services to obstetrical patients, gynecological patients, and neonates. We have a highly skilled team comprised of physicians, nurses, OB technicians, and secretaries. All nursing staff receives training in Neonatal Resuscitation, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring. Our family oriented all private room unit provides 10 Labor/Delivery/Postpartum rooms, 2 triage exam rooms, 3 general patient rooms and 2 Operating Room suites, and a 6-bed Level II Nursery. SUMMARY: This position is filled by a registered nurse who, as a result of educational and clinical experience in nursing, possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide nursing care; applies knowledge to act as a change agent, role model and leader; coordinates the care of patients within the patient population; ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; utilizes theory, research, and specialized knowledge to plan care for the patient; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; interprets, evaluates and communicates research findings; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Responsible and accountable for direct patient care for assigned patients on the nursing unit and providing leadership within the nursing team. Responsible and accountable for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care. Must be competent in a wide variety of nursing skills. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of the hospital. BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards and policies. Required to work with the Nurse Director regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Licensure: Current Arkansas RN license in good standing or Compact State. Experience: Minimum of one year experience is preferred. Applicants with no experience will be required to successfully complete a residency program. Certification: BLS required. ACLS must be acquired within the first 3 months of employment. Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required. Able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient or equipment. Occasionally lift patients with assist 125 pounds or more. Spends 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations of potentially combative patients, CPR and obtaining equipment. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Has a keen sense of awareness (visual and auditory) and ability to recognize changes in patients to prevent behavioral crises. This position may have to function around prisoners or those in behavioral health crisis. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heath and chemicals), and infectious diseases.
