A health services organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Brooklyn.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday
or Sunday-Thursday
Hours: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
Setting: Intermediate Care Facility
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and follow through on health care services for assigned residential programs
- Provide follow-up on medical issues, referrals, and physician orders for persons served
- Administer medications as appropriate and oversee medication storage and administration practices
- Maintain nursing documentation, medical records, schedules, and assessment paperwork
- Support staff training on medical administration, infection control, first aid, and related care procedures
Qualifications:
- At least one year of RN experience in community-based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license and current registration
- Current CPR certification
- Experience with tracheostomy care
- Knowledge of equipment typically used by individuals receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices
Desired Skills:
- Experience with nebulizers
- Experience with wound care
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings
