A community-based health services organization is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Bronx, NY to support adults with developmental disabilities in a day program setting. This role focuses on coordinating health services, managing medication and documentation needs, and responding to clinical and medical needs on site.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Setting: Day Program
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and follow through on health care services for assigned program participants
- Arrange medical services, issue referrals, and provide follow-up on medical concerns
- Administer medications as appropriate and supervise medication storage and certified staff administration
- Maintain medical documentation, nursing paperwork, and case management records for each person served
- Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and support infection control and staff training
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of Nursing experience in community-based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration
CPR certification
Knowledge of wheelchairs and adaptive devices commonly used by service recipients
Desired Skills:
- Experience in a day program or similar school nursing environment
- Familiarity with OPWDD-related services and procedures
- Experience supporting staff training, interdisciplinary team meetings, and case reviews
