    Description

    A 523-bed, full-service acute care hospital in Gainesville is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Renal Vascular unit. This leading medical center is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, accredited by The Joint Commission, holds an Accredited Chest Pain Center designation from the American College of Cardiology, and is recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.

    Position Overview

    The Renal Vascular RN provides direct, patient-centered care to adult patients who are ill, injured, or recovering within a collaborative interdisciplinary environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to perform autonomous assessments, and the skill to develop and manage individualized care plans tailored to complex patient needs.

    The RN serves as a key advocate for patient safety and wellbeing, ensuring high-quality care delivery throughout the patient stay. A strong emphasis is placed on patient and family education, including guidance on medications, procedures, and treatment plans to support recovery and continuity of care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and collect clinical data to guide care decisions.
    • Analyze patient information to identify nursing diagnoses and establish expected outcomes.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
    • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a renal vascular setting.
    • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and protocols.
    • Monitor patient response and adjust care interventions as appropriate.
    • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge planning.
    • Advocate for patient safety and maintain high standards of clinical care.
    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
    • Ensure efficient and appropriate use of clinical resources, including supplies and equipment.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required (any setting, including LTAC or Home Health).
    • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
    • Current Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license required.
    • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider) required prior to start.
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of hire.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
    • Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient care skills.

    Schedule

    • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
    • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
    • Rotating weekends required
